“The World is Ours!”: Reading Day and Books Delivery to Casa do Jardim by American School of Belo Horizonte Book Campaign

On 12th of May 2014 we had a visit of 30 students, 8 teachers and mothers of American School of Belo Horizonte (EABH) from different countries such as Germany, France, Japan, South Africa, Argentin, Italy, Mexico, South Korea and Brasil.

During the month of April, a teacher and the librarian of EABH launched a Campaign with students of this school to buy books to Casa do Jardim.The students were invited to give their “coins” to this Campaign. They used the money collected in this Campaign to buy books.

So, we made a special day with an event in Casa do Jardim to meet the students, deliver the books and say thanks to EABH. In this day, Casa do Jardim and EABH´s students read, ate and play capoeira together. They had an opportunity to broaden their horizons through a cultural exchange between them.
