A Snapshot of the Socio-demographic and Educational Reality of Jardim Canada:
Growth, Weaknesses and Potential

The key objective of this research project was to collect current data on the demographic and social reality of Jardim Canada in 2010/11, particularly in the area of Education.

Through an historical and comparative study, we sought to identify the significant changes that have occurred over the past 20 years in Jardim Canada and region with respect to population, as well as within the private, public and civil sectors. Based on this historical contextualization, we aimed to investigate the current situation in the local educational system.

These data serve as a basis for social reflection in support of the new approach that Fundação Dom Cabral plans to take in their work in Jardim Canada. In addition, the FDC Sustainability Committee plans "to unify and focus the work of FDC in Jardim Canada in order to be more effective and visible".
